Course Description:
Idioms and Art is a custom-designed course that introduces children to the meanings and correct usage of idioms. Each chapter focuses on a different idiom, which is explored through short stories that will be read and discussed. Students will engage in a variety of activities, such as definition matching, fill-in-the-blank exercises, short dialogues, and error correction.
One of the key components of the course involves illustrating the idioms. Students will draw some of the idioms individually, and then, as a class, they will collaborate to draw all of them. Each drawing will be discussed in class, with a focus on the idiom’s meaning and proper usage.
