Classes are designed to develop children’s drawing skills, visual awareness and artistic expression. Through a combination of practical exercises and creative workshops, students will learn not only how to draw, but also how to truly observe, understand and interpret the world around them and translate what they see into their own visual language.

The programme explores a variety of artistic techniques and subjects, gradually building students’ confidence and understanding of proportion, form, light, perspective, colour and composition. Classes are workshop-based and combine classic drawing exercises with creative and innovative projects, adapted to the students’ age, skills and individual interests.

Throughout the course, students will explore:

• Sketching & Charcoal – developing expressive drawing techniques and learning to work with light, shadow and highlights using charcoal and a kneaded eraser on large formats.
• Body Proportions & Movement – understanding the structure and proportions of the human body, capturing movement and practising quick observational sketches.
• Portrait & Facial Proportions – learning the principles of facial symmetry, the placement of facial features, and creating self-portraits and portraits.
• Perspective & Depth – discovering how to create the illusion of three-dimensional space on a flat surface through linear perspective, including bird’s-eye and worm’s-eye views.
• Painting & Still Life – learning to translate three-dimensional objects and natural forms onto paper or canvas by analysing simple shapes, volume and colour.
• Sculpture & Portraits in Clay – taking drawing skills into three dimensions by creating heads, masks and busts using self-hardening clay.
• Architectural & Spatial Design – transforming imagination into visual concepts through architectural plans, building models and optical illusions inspired by Op Art.

In addition to improving their artistic technique, students will learn to communicate ideas visually, express their thoughts creatively and develop their own artistic voice. Drawing is a universal form of communication that can help children express ideas that are sometimes difficult to put into words. It also develops observation, concentration, imagination and spatial thinking — valuable skills that extend far beyond the art classroom.
